In use during 1988, this "Channel 7 News" open from KGO-TV San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose, features Pete Wilson, Anna Chavez, Pete Giddings, and Mike Barry.
Its interesting that KGO has had people that worked at other ABC O&O's like Mike Barry, Spencer Christian and Roger Grimsby at WABC. Anna Chavez, Jessica Aguirre, and Wayne Freedman from KABC, Dan Ashley from WTVD, Kristen sze from WPVI, Leslie Brinkley and Jan Carson from KTRK, Linda Yu at WLS. Its incredible that KGO manages to be less tabloidal than the other ABC O&O's
@HulkieG Raleigh-Durham did to, WLS did have the KABC/WABC/KGO set and used the blue wall of 7's graphics quite often that was used at WABC. KABC used that for its editorial intros.
Another great example of CapCities Chrome here... the animation is definitely ripped from KABC, but I prefer the original cut of Tar Sequence to any other version, especially KABC's warbling synths.
It's interesting to compare the graphics KGO is using here with its sister stations in LA, Fresno, New York, Houston, and Philly - definitely similar, but distinctly different. (Chicago never really used CapCities Chrome that much...)
ABC's O&Os absolutely had the best local news presentation in the day - music, graphics, the whole nine yards. They set the standard. Still do.

The ID animation is similar to KABC, and the "time" segue is similar to what WTVD had around this time.

That intro has the same theme to WABC Eyewitness News.
