dep0y --> it's their traditional dance inheritance from their ancestors. So, to them it's normal. And there's no typical possession by the shaman or whatever. It's just natural =) hope you enjoy watching it..

@MrAbdikholiqurrahmat ,... kira-kira kaya gitu deh ga ada ubahnya mirip tari kuda lumping yg makan beling tapi orangnya sehat-sehat aja. Ini namanya kesaktian terselubung yg jarang dimiliki orang pada umumnya. Perlu waktu sekian tahun untuk belajar ilmu tsb.

@dominicgeorge87 Couldn't agree with you better. All stage performers no matter where they are from will say a little prayer asking for guidance and protection from any mishaps. In Asia especially the main dancers will recite certain prayers known as Penaik Seri for beauty and grace. There are also many rituals taken place before each performance. It's part of the culture and it's practiced widely.

I have many friends who do traditional dances.. Hmm.. They do say some-kind of prayer or simple chant to protect themselves from unwanted mistake or accidents. My friend said in one of their performances, one of the rival teams used black magic to break their group. In the case of the Minang, I believe that there are, NOT everyone, who still practice Black Magic. Come on, don't deny this- we Asians know the truth.
