The second field trip of the 2005 ECM class from Oxford University's Centre for the Environment. In the UK's South Downs we learned about soil erosion and land management on chalklands, agricultural practices & pastures, embankment systems and floodplains, environmental education and the challenges of having people live in a natural park. Of course, we also enjoyed the Guy Fawkes preparations and went out on the town!
It's a great program. I'm in my mid 30s, class age ranged from 22 to 41 and from all over the world. Was a great experience and great classmates to learn from! I went on to find some work, but 5 students remained for their DPhil. Graduates from the program have jobs in politics, engineering firms, consulting agencies, energy companies, renewables, non-profit sector, international development, etc.

I'm 30 years old, would I be much older than rest of the students in the program? What was the programs like. Did you stay, or do most student stay to complete their DPhil? What kind of job can this degree be used towards. I've checked out the website extensively, but I would really benefit from getting feedback from someone who decided to attend the course himself.
