2011 Bacardi Columbus Day Regatta sailed by Daniel Evans and Brad Johnson from TeamParadise at Shake a Leg Miami. High winds lead to a dramatic downwind run and capsize.

Thanks to Marco for jumping in and assisting getting the sails down and securing the boat, and Jonas for sticking around in a powerboat. He picked Brad and I up after the boat flipped a second time and we drifted away from the cat.

It's testament to the high winds that Marco could right the cat single handed with no sails.

  • You were in the Multihull 1 class and two boats behind me. I was crewing on a 24' Corsair Trimaran. We couldn't make it to the K mark which is when the storm was the strongest! The power of this squall was something I had never experienced before while flying a hull. You guys were so brave! Great video!!!!

  • @Alfistigirl I bet you guys were flying on that Corsair. Does it fly the main hull as well? Thanks! I think everyone sailing that day was brave.

  • Awesome footage guys......You guys must have gone over about the same time we lost it in a jibe.....saw you later being towed back by USCG, while we were trying to sit it out.....sacrificed my jib in the progress....let's go out together some time soon.....my H20 is at USSC

  • @hansinholland Yeah we saw you guys heading up with no jib. Sounds like you had an exciting day as well. Looking forward to the next CABB sail so we can meet some more cat sailors.

  • Awesome, video really shows how fast the boat will blow away from you.I just bought an N20 myself last week. Keep the videos going.

  • @bachwilson I love the N20. Where do you sail it?
