My $1000 PC Specs (keep in mind, used for gaming): Processor - Intel Core i7 2600K (3.40GHz), 8GB DDR3 of RAM, 1TB of space, Graphics - AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB and it's a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit version. I'm wondering how good this really is, and if I need to update this anytime soon (for gaming purposes). Also, was it worth $1000? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Wow.Your PC is way better than mine and yours is a lot older. I guess the world does revolve around money, because it is nearly impossible to buy anything that adds up to that expense whe you are only 16.

Actually it is overkill. You spent a huge amount of money on "boutique" consumer parts which are only fractionally faster than much cheaper models.
If you really wanted the "best possible" at the time, you should have either bought two equivalent Xeons (X5600 series) or two 12-core opterons, depending on how scalable the software is. Likewise, why not get a Quadro or Firepro instead of a gtx 480???!

@fmmjqtft1 - I bought the parts I did because they were the best at the time, and worked with the build I wanted to make. Plain and simple.
