A multi-talented entertainer, trumpeter Jack Sheldon got his professional start while still a teenager and went on to entertain audiences for 18 years as music director and side-kick on The Merv Griffin Show. Along the way, he worked with such greats as Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman and Dizzy Gillespie, helping create jazz's West Coast sound. With The Jack Sheldon California Cool Quartet, he returns to the Orange County Performing Artscenter to charm audiences with his smooth and velvety style, showcasing his ability to balance old favorites with fresh originals.

I saw Jack Sheldon jamming on a Tuesday evening at his jazz club, Jax, in Glendale CA several years ago. That was a really cool night of jazz.
