  • when i draw in makrer you see the strokes, do you see abrupt storkes in your drawings?

  • @LPSrox44,

These are also PrismaColor makers on top of the Gelly Roll pen which is created by a company called: SUKURA and can be purchased from their website if you can't find it locally - sakura of america dot com

As far as "abrupt strokes," this is a tricky one. You have to work pretty quickly for an even flat tone, meaning work physically fast and with a consistent pressure to the pen on the paper. This comes with time and experimentation for what the final outcome is to be.

  • very cool!!! What kind of paper is that?

  • @heysi090,

These sketches were all done on Animation Paper. I purchased the paper from Cartoon Colour in Culver City, CA next to the Sony Animation Studio. It's fantastic and very easy and inviting to draw on.

  • 2OpenHere,

Thank you very much for the kind comments. If you keep watching . . . I'll keep creating.

    Facepalm,

Thank you for the comment . . . it was important to me to call out the overall shape or silhouette as well as draw contrast in the area by using a complimentary color in a graphic flat way that also points more attention to the detailed oriented mass of the character shape. Phew . . that was a lot of jibber jabber.

  • @webhead84 The techniques shown here can be used for any kind of marker, but you'll find that if you are serious about drawing frequently, higher-end art supplies will get you better results once you learn to work with them.

I would suggest getting a gray-pack of Prismas. :) You get a range of grays from dark to light, and drawing in monochromatic tones is great drawing practice. As far as markers go it is a great 'lots of bang for the buck' set. You can do a lot with 12 gray tones!

  • So inspiring!

  • I like your drawings the way they look that style,I need to practice people, I ROCK at landscapes

    though!

  • okay this is going to prolly draw some fire but would you mind a series of tutorials involving realistically affordable supplies for the average person i.e crayola and what not , then show the transition into prisma and such and

  • Hey I just bought the water brush pen but did you put ink in it mixed with water?
