ATTENTION. HI RES LYRIC VERSION UPLOADED.
The TV Release version is now uploaded in my stream, has different effects, is higher resolution and the subtitled lyrics.

"Standing Outside a Broken Phonebooth With Money in My Hand" to give it the full title. This is version 1. There is a second version with subtitled lyrics and a couple of extra vfx, but I prefer this. It's my favourite piece of work ever....not necessarily my best, but I love it. There's a lot of "Henry" trickery in there, and a wipe effect that myself and top editor Adrian Picket developed that has been widely copied since.
Chris O'Connor is the PRG. He's an ex-air traffic controller (hence planes) who knocked out a few promo CDs of his Album "Rocket" speculatively. This track was picked up by a bunch of cool radio stations, and Sony signed him up.
He was dropped not long after, but he continues to make great records when the fancy takes him.

This is a great record. The sample is B B King, who trousered most of the royalties, so even when this record was topping the alternative music charts for months, Chris was still having to scrimp and save for a decent cigar.
Honourable mention to Sir Bert Lloyd for bringing the track to my attention, and for doing a top notch production job, and keeping the talent amused with his coat.
Armando Schmidt was D.O.P. The little girl was Kelly Bovingdon, who had worked with us before....she was an absolute star.
I did hope that someone like Michael Stipe or Beck would see this and give me my career defining gig...but in retrospect, this was my career defining gig.
An allstar rendition of the BB King song "How Blue Can You Get" is here

  • @Skeebow42 Brah, what are you talking about? this is 16 years old

  • this band is good to be a one hit wonder. there are better than some 90s band that had more than one hit.

  • What is it about this song...........I can't even explain how it makes me feel...........I miss the good old days.

  • wao that song reminds me when i was in the high School those days will never come back !

  • program please subscribe to my channel for more cool videos and FREE traffic.

  • Reminds me of better days

  • @MisterRunon Only in the 20th century, this song was always on the radio back in the 90s

  • @Skeebow42 Considering that most of the general public were just getting their first cell phones in 1996(when Rocket, the album this song was on, was released) its pretty reasonable to think that pay phones still had a use at that time.
