Thought I take out the big bird and try and land her! The amount of stuff you can do in this game - it's incredible! I know I did all sorts of stuff wrong like:
-not putting flaps all the way down
-landed to fast (around 220 knots), should be 160-170 knots.
-1800 feet above the runway the autopilot is turned off and then handeled manualy
-A real 747's use the FMC to land instead of the GPS.
Check out the PMDG 747 add-on if you want ultra realistic.
The landing is at LAX (Los Angeles International)! If you spot something I should have done please tell me and I'll add it to the list.

I look forward to hearing your comments and thanks for watching! Enjoy!
These are the correct procedures for landing a 747:
1. at 240 knot Flaps 10°
2. at 30nm from the runaway slow down to 220. Flaps 20° (No such thing as 15° on 747 btw).
3. at 20nm from the runaway slow down to 180.
4. when 180 reached (use speed brake in some cases) gears down, full flaps.
5. At 10nm 160-170 knots.
6. Reverse until reached 60knots, remove speed brake, use brakes.
LOL we are going to PRETEND we are cleared to land ha. awesome.

Although Microsoft claims that FS9/FSX is 'as real as it gets', the aircrafts in FS are oversimplified versions of the real thing. The game does give a 'feel' of flying the real planes, but I don't think a good grasp of flying FS airplanes would be enough for a person to land a 747, or even an A320 in real world situations.

and your not supposed to land with flaps down. just saying. so you landed correctly.

@TheisFromDkhockey u don't have to land faster becuase the plane is bigger, the flaps are desinged to give the plane enough ist to land at the same speed any other comercial passenger aircraft would, i60 is a tad fast.

You know you can turn off the ILS Morse code tone on the radio stack by turning off the ID button. Gets annoying really fast.

@deadlydolleatsbabies you are worng you land with 160, 140-145 is for a boeing 737

LMAO SUCH A BAD PILOT. FIRST THING IS THT THE AVERAGE LANDING SPEED FOR A 747 IS 140-145. I USE 145 OTHER WISE IN BAD CONDITIONS YOU WILL STALL DUE TO DISRUPTED AIR AROUND THE WINGS. THEN I NOTICE YOU ADDED FLAPS AROUND 227 KNOTS WHICH IF YOU WAS USING FFSPASSENGER WILL NOTICE THAT YOUR FLAPS WILL BE DESTROYED AT THOSE SPEEDS. PREMATURELY LOWERING THE GEARS AND NOT TO COUNT THE FALSE CONFIRMATIONS. YOU DECENDED WAY TO CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT.. BUT GOOD LUCK IN BECOMING BETTER AT THIS.
