Would you work for the government? That is the question many graduates and job seekers encounter in the process of making choices after school. Ass NTVs Dennis Onsarigo found out, a public service job has often emerged as the second or last choice for many job seekers.

I would recommend the Civil Service for young grads not because the gov is a great employer(all employers suck)but as a way of knowing how the cogs on the wheels that run society operate.Civil service will enable you understand your country better than any course you ever took.Little wonder then that many successful business people, pols and academics have had their stints in the civil service

In my days the civil service employed the best grads while pass grade grads joined the private sector to compensate their academic challenges with the Kenya Shilling. They won and are the reason Kenyans today do not respect knowledge

It's popular yes and also a good place to earn free money doing nothing...in addition to soliciting for bribes shamelessly before providing services!
Civil Servants make more money picking bribes in a day than their miserable monthly payslips.
How else could they manage to get drunk every day?
