@blastlaughs Avid Studio has more effects and more features than Sony Vegas Platinum but, if Sony will do everything you need to do then go with it. There is nothing worse than paying for a program that you will not use all of the features for. If you plan on learning all of the features of Avid Studio and using them in the future go with Avid Studio.

@blastlaughs There is only one Avid Studio. There are several Pinnacle Studio verisons (1 - 15). Pinnacle is made by Avid but they are different. Avid Studio comes with all of the effects. Each version of Pinnacle has up to 3 types (HD, HD Ultimate, or HD Ultimate Collection). They each have different effects and features. Google "Studio 15 and Avid Studio Comparison" to see what effects each type has.

@blastlaughs right click on My Computer and go to properties. It will tell you which verison of windows you have, how much RAM (memory) you have, the size of the hard drive, which service pak you are on, what system type you have, and the type of processor you have.

hey thanks for responding so quickly very helpful but i have one more question i have a windows vista 32 bit will avid studio still work on it
blastlaughs 4 months ago
@blastlaughs If you have Windows Vista (SP2) it will work. do a search for "Avid Studio system requirements" on Google to make sure your computer meets all of the system requirements. If it doesn't you may have issues using the software (crashes, slow, etc.).
