I did a lot of research online about different ways to do a garden w/out having to dig, till, hoe, keep the weeding it every few days, ect... There are lots of options out there, but I settled on this setup because everything is neat clean and most importantly CHEAP.
The way it works is that the fish poop feeds the plants just like cow manure does.
I just hope our veggies don't smell or taste fishy.. J/K
With this setup you don't need an air pump or filters.. The falling water from the pump outlet, siphon, and water falling from the gutter after being filtered thru the plants keeps the water really oxygen rich. No aquarium filter needed because that's what all the rocks and plants roots will be doing.
All that's left to do now is add fish, and put some screen over the fish tank to keep the debris and birds out of it.

  • I'm very interested in know all this about because I have small plants and fishes how or where can I see more information about this anb by the way where you keep your fishes? in the black buket?

  • @jorasave

I found all the info about it by googling "aquaponics." If you need more detailed info on the siphoning system with the buckets search for "bell siphon." The fish live in the black tub. It has aquarium gravel on the bottom and they are fed 3 times a day. I have about 30-45 goldfish from Wal-Mart living it the tub. It's about twice the size of the tank in walmart and has about 1/4 the fish. They are better off now. It's been a week and only 2 have died. Walmart loses about 5 a day.

  • I'm curious how this garden system worked out for you over the growing season? This sounds good, I'm wondering if it works as well as it sounds.

  • @TrailChaser thank you
