I was too lazy to improve the LC-filter. I think I'm using a second battery for the video the next time because also the output power of the transmitter gets decreased at lower voltages.
The 1000mW Lawmate transmitter is the only alternative but it's too heavy (needs a heatsink), too hot and powerful (blocks RC signal) in my opinion.
4th, 5th and 6th flight with the new plane
Setup:
Falcon EPO Flying Wing from BEVRC.com, special motor mounting, canopy not used
2x E-Max ES08-A servos
1x Robbe FS61 BB Speed pan servo for the camera, moving with a controller stick
Thunder Tiger ACE RC BLC-40 ESC, 40A, Settings: Airplane Mode, Fast Throttle Response, Standard Timing, Light Discharge Protection, No Brake
ACE RC OBL 29/35-10H brushless outrunner, 3500kv
Graupner airscrew coupling diameter 3,15mm
Graupner CAM Speed Prop 4.7 x 4"
max. current approx. 34 A
Thunder Power ProLite V2 3s 11.1V 2600mAh 20C LiPo battery (weighs only 188g!!!) or RockAmp 3s 11,1V 2200mAh 30C LiPo battery (193g but very powerful!!!)
Multiplex RX-7 SYNTH DS IPD 40 MHz PPM receiver, 3.5m antenna (Lambda/2)
Graupner/JR MX-16s 40MHz + Emergency Booster
Center of gravity (CG): approx. 316mm from the nose, 4mm up reflex of the elevons
AUW with NO FPV gear: approx .640g
FPV gear:
KX-171 pro= KX171 G2 PAL CCD camera from BEVRC
1.3 GHz 800mW Fox= Sunsky transmitter
1,2 or 1,3 GHz transmitters are legal in Austria with Radio (Ham) License between 1240 and 1300 MHz up to 200W
I'm using channel 9 (1280 MHz)
Stock 3dBi antenna, upper plastic casing removed- should be better for 1280 MHz. Weighs only 18g instead of 27g because I have ground the SMA connector too.
Cyclops Easy OSD (CE OSD) V1.4
Fat Shark RCV922 Aviator Edition video goggles
Microphone
Powering the FPV gear with the flight battery, 11.1V= 3s
LC-filter, needs some improvement
Weight FPV gear: approx. 160g with LC-filter
Ground Station: Lawmate 1.3 GHz with BEVRC 3dBi antenna, upper plastic casing removed
Powered with a 3s LiPo battery
FPV Recording:
Canon MVX200i Mini DV PAL Camcorder (DV-AVI, 720x576, 25 fps)
Deinterlacing with "Alparysoft Deinterlace" (Advanced method, ME search enabled) ,saved with "Cedocida DV Codec" and Virtual Dub
Editing with Ulead Videostudio 11
Compressing with Xvid, Single Pass, Quantizer 2 (approx. 72 MB per minute), MP3 256 kps CBR Stereo
This is the best possible quality in my opinion (with this camera, transmitter setup)
All up weight with FPV gear: approx. 804g
Top level speed (airspeed): approx. 100 km/h
Flight time: 5- 30 minutes, depending on throttle and thermal lift
Range: approx. 1,5 km with this setup
Costs:
Plane, camera approx. 300 Euro
Altogether approx. 2000 Euro (Flight Simulator, transmitter, batteries, charger, video goggles, FPV video recorder....)
Lol, why was there a towel on the guy's head?
Oh and great flying skills! Wonderful video!
OctopuPilot 7 months ago
@OctopuPilot Thanks, his video goggles have no protection against sunlight, so he would not see the video picture without the towel.
PS: Your Lego Eurofighter Typhoon is VERY cool!!!

nice!!!! you can decrease the interfearence from the microphone (if its external) by puting some aluminium foil around it.it worked in mine with the same setup
CyberPilot360 7 months ago
@CyberPilot360 Thanks I'll try that!!!
I have already a foam around the microphone because I noticed the interference when I was blowing directly into the microphone (very loud). But I have the same mike at the helicopter and had no problems. Also the interference decreased a lot with the LC filter at this plane, but it's not enough (9 windings on the ferrite ring and two 16V, I think 320mF capacitors)
