Interview from 2001.

Co-authors of "The Jesus Mysteries" and "Jesus and "The Lost Goddess: the Secret Teachings of the Original Christians" take a scholarly and historical look at the Jesus stories: Roman Empire suppressed ties to older, neighboring religions and philosophies that shared a mythic god/man/hero who died to be reborn and the equal role and status of the goddess. They see the Gospel stories as Gnostic secret teachings, a spiritual allegory encoding the soul's mystical progression to enlightenment. Who were the Gnostics, and what did they believe and practice that was so threatening to the political power of the day? With this key, their story takes on a new promise and meaning.

  • Lets hear some gnostic teachings and not this feel-good new age tripe

  • I would disagree with the host in what most of what she said...

  • @Agent99 SILENCE! You gossipy n fooolish old woman!

  • @TheHallOfRecords Your work is a great service to sentient beings. Perhaps if the sound is unmanageable for them it wasn't their karma to hear it. If you are able to fix the sound, maybe it would be nice to leave a note that you are sorry about the sound and will try to fix it when you have the time and energy. "People are crazy and times are strange," but the less time spent on resentment and the more on raising each others' prospects the better. XOXOX

I'm not that familiar with Mac myself.. If I was, I might have been able to guide you to the correct settings menu. But the thing is that I just don't have time to put that much work into my uploads. And considering the fact that YouTube is about to close down my main channel (this will be the second time I will have to rebuild), it's kinda hard to do this work.. Anyway, I upload original clips because it's fast and easy. Sorry if you don't approve of the quality..

  • @TheHallOfRecords I'm on an iMac and there are only adjustments for volume on the menu. If I were a computer genius I might be able to do something about that, but even if I could do it, there are millions of people who can't do much more on their computers than click links and read email. If you have the ability to make the sound better before you upload, that'ld be the kind thing. I mean, thanx for bothering at all, but you don't be impatient with people who can't take it.

Yes I am very aware of these kinds of people. But I don't post these videos so that random pop-culture people can come by and listen to some of this information and treat it as they do entertainment. No, that is not what this is..

If one is not aware and willing enough to embark oneself on this simple task of trying to make the sound better, I don't see why that person should even listen to the lecture at all. He/she clearly have better things to do/listen to..
