Fear & needing in China and US part 1

Should China and USA fear one another or do they need one another more than the rational for fear dictates?
China and US are economic partners but military rivals how can this relationship be balanced.
The central banking systems of both countries are at logger heads and China resents the USD reserve currency status which pushes up export and oil prices at the whim of US foreign policy.
