At the end of it, I think as a hunter I am better off using the rifle as a stick to defend myself when the bunny attacks me.

@hewittdj1 By the time you get to the E in PROVE, You've already established that the gun is unloaded and empty. You Examine the barrel to ensure that there are no obstructions, NOT that it is unloaded. An obstructed barrel is dangerous, especially in a shotgun, which can explode if the barrel is blocked. Certain guns are designed in such a way that they can/must be examined safely by observing down the muzzle.

@hewittdj1 haha, well sometimes it is the only way to check, thats why you have the light, that blocks it from closing, I dont think anyone following the safe procedure has been hurt, just Dumb Idiots who do it with breach closed and loaded, DERP!

I love how they stick the firearm in their face to check the barrel, they are not following the P in PROVE, always point in a safe direction, is it just me, or is your face not a safe direction?
