  • which amplifier is this ?

  • Hey.. This speakers are 300watt right? I got an Argon 2 * 60watt amp... It's really slammi'n my VE-8. Would it slam the VE-12?

  • i have listened to a NAD amp with 80watts per channel and it sounded really great with this speakers. It sounded even better than my last reciever wich was and pioneer with 150 watts per channel.

  • Nice ;)

  • Nice :) checkt out my E-315 if you like :)

  • Well, my receiver is from 1993, and was used for the local thrift store's offcial PA system (so were my two Fisher towers with 9" woofers), and they've been cranked every day for about 15 years, 10 hours a day. So my reciever (and escpecially my older speakers) can take anything you throw at it. JVC makes VERY durable receivers. BTW our budget is disturbingly low, and we literally need to save our cash for gas money, not Cerwin Vegas or a new receiver : (. But thanks for the info 8 D.

  • Yeah, they are tuned to 28Hz. And your receiver should be ok as long as you don't crank the volume. But I strongly suggest that you upgrade receivers in the near future, because these speakers are really meant to be driven with at least 100-150wpc RMS. The more power you feed them, the better they sound.

  • It's a JVC RX-307, and BTW it's not 90 RMS, it's 90 MAX and only if I'm running them only. So I'd be giving them about 40 watts max each at 8 ohms. But my receiver can push my current 9's a little too hard for their own good. BTW is it true that they really are tuned to 24 Hz? I also heard 28 but still, that's LOW. The lower they go, the less loud they are. How can they be that insane?

  • I'm drivin mine on a Onkyo receiver that sends 110wpc and they bump pretty good. These speakers are really efficient so you don't need a ton of power for them to get loud. If your receiver isn't a piece of crap, and sends 90 TRUE wpc, it should get the job done.

  • Yeah 90watts will power them. But won't give the power they need and your amp will be working hard and everything will have to be at max. So i'd recommend a strong amp for CVS.
