Touch has become a very popular way to interact with phones and tablets. However current touch screens don't work if the user is wearing gloves and touching the screen for simple functions leave greasy fingerprints.

Azoteq introduces air gestures, which takes touch to the third dimension.
Imagine being able to wakeup your tablet when your hand approaches. Imagine being able to pan and swipe by making a gesture in the air. Azoteq's ProxSense technology makes this possible today.

The technology behind ProxSense implements a capacitive sensor 100 times more sensitive than todays touch sensors. ProxSense can sense an approaching hand up to 300 millimeters away. Notice the green bar in the insert.

ProxSense can detect a swipe right (pause 1s) left (pause 1s) up (pause 1s) or down.

System designers can even implement complex gestures such as drawing in the air.
