Also, Steroids just don't make hit home runs all the sudden. You have to be a good hitter, which means you have to make contact, without contact you will be just a strong guy that strikes out. That's what sets bonds out better than mcgwire, because bonds could single or homer.
Take into fact that barry bonds was a hell of a player before he started injecting. He won 3 mvp's before this happened. Steroids helped him play better at an older age (obiously) and hit the ball further, he was already a home run hitter. Remember he was in the 40-40 club once and the 30-30 club 3 times in the 90's, along with gold gloves. (pre-steroids). Also, remember in 2004 when he had 177 "intentional walks," and yet still hit around .340 with about 40 home runs.
