    There definitely should've been a 3rd color that was mid tone to help it look more gradient.

    They should have gone over the very tip one more time to make it more concentrated. That would have made it look more like a gradient.

    Purple and purple aren't called 'complementary colors' in terms of color theory. I guess you could say they do complement each other though?
