ferret dessert!

They are eating ice cream. I DO understand that it is not a part of their diet, and be assured that I do not feed them ice cream all the time. Rather I do not feed them icecream at all. I make sure they have their daily nutrition of marshall ferret diet food and a helping of ferret tone for their amino acid (protein) intake. I love my ferrets very much and would not EVER do a thing to hurt their health and shorten their longevity.

On the plus side! Look how cyute they look!

You can mix ferretone half and half with Olive Oil. Which also makes it go further. Hope this helps, and I hope you don't take this as critisism. Just a fellow ferret owner, with hopefully some helpful advice. Your ferrets look happy and content and seem like they get alot of love. Cute fuzzies. I have two myself. I never feed them "people food" in large abundance either, but I've let them have a taste or two. I have no doubts about your abilities as a ferret owner and have no desire to make myself out to sound like another dime-a-dozen condescending youtube animal expert at your expense. I think you're doing fine. Rock on!

I feed my boy Rolo Orijen Cat Food, it's much much better then a lot of ferret foods.

The protein should also come primarily from chicken or poultry. (Must not be by-product and should be at least in the first three under ingredients. ) Chicken baby food is an awesome treat alternative. Also ferretone is great, however too much is bad, the Vitamin A content can be dangerous if given too much and cause diarrhea.

Ferrets are lactose-intolerant, which causes diarrhea and can dehydrate the animal. So matter how much they beg its never a good idea to give milk or ice cream. Also ferrets need a high protein and hight fat diet. Marshalls diet is not that great and you can google for more info on better alternatives for their diet. Protein levels should be at least 33%.
