The average leftist is so immature and narcissistic that they would never be able to merge successfully. They are a selfish breed and would be trapped in a vortex of who gets to have what amount of power and influence.
A successful merge can only be done by 'adults' who see the greater good as the goal and not their own petty careers.
no need to call her a bimbo, she is just a misinformed youngster who looks damn good. She should follow Carrolyn and come to my neighbourhood in Toronto. I'm sure she likes to party as much as she likes her party.
not really if they merged a number of people would leave because although they are all left -- not everyone is a left as the next guy/gal. Just like how the reform party could never have the support of the big C conservative party, a left leaning coalition would fall under its own mass and lack of idological purity
New Democrats operate democratically through their riding associations, their provincial organizations, and the federal NDP party - that is democracy. NDP candidate was right - he is not in a position to make backroom deals and make PROMISES he cannot keep
And all you leftards are moron socialists. Still too many level headed folk out there to let the reins of power get into your commie hands. So while your waiting for the reins try growing up.
sorry mm but the majority position is where democracy is. It's not a left issue, it's deeply at the heart of all matters of the future: It is also more than evident that the people threatening the future, are a minority on the far right who, when the tipping point finally comes, will not be allowed - by the majority - near power again. Soon - a year at the most - you will be left speaking untruths to power & going unheard & unheeded as you fall off the evolutionary chain of command.
In every all candidates meeting I have watched the GReens, Libs, and NDP where very close on the issues and the CPC where the ones out of step. If those three parties ever merged they would have the combined mandate of 70% of the country and the CPC/Reform party would have exactly zero seats and be relegated to fringe status.
So your laughing about a situation that could bury your party for decades.

So the Red/Greens feel that conservative voters have no right to democracy?
If Canadians dont vote left= they will gang up and impose themselves on voters no matter what the majority chooses?
What WONT they do for power ?

Harper and Layton were both right, the Greens shouldn't have wasted everyone's time and been allowed into the debates. What a joke.
