[Overview] PS3Break Dongle and How To Install/Copy Homebrew Games to PS3

This is actually an old video that I recorded in early 2010, but decided to take it down during the GeoHot litigation. Now that is over, and dust has settled (maybe), I am uploading this video again just for educational purposes.

At the time, I was using the PS3 Break dongle to do jailbreak on my 3.41 firmware, fat PS3, 1st generation. I know that since then, there are many different ways for people to do custom firmware.

Do not ask me how to install custom firmware, or where to get apps for your PS3. Everything you need to know can be found at the psx-scene.com forums.

I don't have the PS3 physically at my own location, so I am unable to give support. Enjoy. - Versatile

Dont support overpriced dongles.. they rip you off just for a little Homebrew..

@fishbone007 Agreed, now you can make your own. At the time, I purchased mine for a measly 30 bucks. Then clones came out a few months later, and it was like 10 or 12 USD. These days, I don't know what prices are, but there are free methods for sure.

@gamedexterity I didnt mean to be rude or something I just personally dont see the point in spending 30-40bucks for people who are obviously are releasing overpriced shit. Thats like I have a iPod and the month later a newer version comes and I go get this one too.

@fishbone007 Did you guys even read the video description or annotation? At the time the jailbreak scene was new, dongles was the way to go. Now fast forward 2 years later, and things are different. Maybe it was wrong idea to even upload this old video. All I wanted to do was broaden people's horizons, and by doing so, I am getting punished. - Versatile

What is a "safe" way to jailbreak my ps3/ trusted way, how did you do it.

Can you still play online?

@whoisyourmumME I used the ps3 break dongle as you see in the video. Now these days, you don't need to go buy a dongle. You can install CFW. However, I am not up to speed in regards to what firmware version you need to be, and if you can downgrade, etc. I am still at 3.41, and my brother is not willing to upgrade it any higher. Can you play online? No, thats the only downside. 1TB of games in your pocket or play online. your choice.

Before more comments turn into CYC material, this is an old video upload that I pulled out of the ashes. I realize there are better (and slicker) methods to modding your PS3. um...why are you not running a custom firmware?......i think...me personally....that jailbreak dongles are outdates....except for cobra usb
