Introduction and Grip. This is the first in a series of categorized videos, with each video displaying 1 technique or rudiment of making "noise" with the rhythm bones. I invite others to contribute elaborations and nuance to each topic.

  • What a great idea for a how-to video series! It is just what the ancient art of bone playing needs for the new millennia. I hope this bone rattlin' concept goes viral bigtime. By the way, Scott, you've really come a long way in a short time. --Scott "bonedog" Miller

  • Scott...Thanks. Coming from you that is high praise indeed. However... the best way for this to go anywhere (let alone viral) is if people like you will post response videos with YOUR perspectives and approach to the various "rudiments." I know you're a "thumb" gripper. What can you tell us about WHY? I hope you'll take me up on it and show the world what you've got. A mention in one of your sales e-mails wouldn't hurt either. ;-)

  • Your YouTube is now up on the store's Resources page.

With the exception of the Rhythm Bones Society (RBS) and bone playing contests, no links outside the store go in the monthly email newsletter. Your YouTube is a fitting resource for the RBS website. But unfortunately, their site is not configured so members can share cool resources and such.

I'll post a video here eventually - after I dig out from an avalanche of work.

  • Excellent! I look forward to it, and the community will benefit from more and more voices adding their knowledge!!

    Rob.

  • Thanks for these videos!

I've been playing for a year and am a "thumb gripper".

Why? Because of my reluctant left hand, I needed that extra grip to be able to hold on to the darn things with it and then it just seemed easier to hold them the same way with both hands.
