@irishanto3 No, the Protestant religion began in Germany when a catholic priest published a book on the errors of catholicism, in the following years many countries in Northern Europe had Protestant reformations, you are thinking of the English reformation, - Anglicanism, most Protestants however are of the Calvinist persuasion which has roots largely with the Scottish reformation.
