In his 5-part oral history interview, television producer / director/ writer /creator Sheldon Leonard (1907-97) shares his fondest memories about the pioneering programs he produced such as The Danny Thomas Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffith Show, and I Spy. He also speaks highly of the talented group of people he worked with like Danny Thomas, Mary Tyler Moore, Bill Cosby, Dick Van Dyke, Carl Reiner and Andy Griffith.

  • Mr.Leonard was the first to be interviewed for the TV Academy's archives..sadly..it is also his last project..prior to his death.

  • Firstly, they're old. Secondly, they all smoked like chimneys back in the day. I'd be surprised if they didn't cough through much of the interviews.

  • I've been watching several of these TVLegends interviews, which are wonderfully interesting, but I've noticed that a number of the featured stars have persistent throat/couging issues during the taping. Just an observation.
