  • you could get EA-81 turbo subarus, unfortunatly they only came with automatics.

also, an EJ-22 is just as narrow as a EA-81

  • @STIWuff "EJ-22 is just as narrow as a EA-81"

Are you sure? have you measured it? i know those aint the same width, ea-81 is much more narrow than probably any other subaru boxer engine.

  • @simul84 well, EJ's dont have huge cam towers that make it really wide.. ive seen an EJ in a first gen brat, but an EA-82 couldent fit on its best day

  • @STIWuff But EJ wont fit to glf without body modification, i've measured it. Believe it or not brat is a different car than glf.

  • @truckertrucker45 look into weber carbs. thats a bolt on 10-15 hp

  • god id love to take my brat out in that snow..and speaking of wich im looking to get more power into my brat its a 81 first gen and im looking for something that isnt to hard and that could be done on a weekend

  • @STIWuff I own a 1st gen brat and an 2002 Wrx with a EJ20 and i know for a fact you cant fit the EJ20 into the first gen brat without modification

  • i feel sorry for your turbo with all that compressor surge!! yikes

  • @brumby420 Making an ea81 turbo is wery easy, you need a turbo and a carburator for turbo use and an intercooler and some aftermarket fuel pump (make sure it is enough big) with pressure regulator (for carb turbo) and then just put it all together and you will have a turbo ea81, needs alot of custom parts and night hours to make it but it is worth it. For more information, email.

  • @simul84 Well I gotta admit good job mate. Ive honestly never heard of a turbo in an ea81 before but I suppose you could have made one. if youd like to show me id be interested in dropping a turbo in my brumby. Anyways great job

    cheers mate
