Studio equipment needed for making professional music

Everyone honestly, it all comes down to the personal preference of the user. I own both a PC and a Mac, and I love both machines. I had noticed my mac was performing infinitely better than a PC, but that wasnt much of an issue once I upgraded my pc to core i7, added a solid state drive and more RAM.
However i do agree logic pro is a great piece of software and beats all others out there. But then again ableton is amazing too. So once again it all comes down to ones personal preference

@RoboticusMusic Keep dreaming Mac's are solid built machines made to handle whatever your into from music production to making movies. I guess that's why all the pro's use them because they are made for professional applications like Logic Pro 9 which is the best music software I have ever used. I think you would change your mind if you had a Mac and Logic Pro 9 it would make your music sound 100% better. Mac's are not for retards they are for people who want quality end results.

Hardwell himself uses a access virus TI, a apogee duet 2 , and a set of powered speakers with a powered subwoofer... and a Macbook pro (late 2011 ) - and he drops million dollar songs .. good vid though!

My problem is stands do you use computer stands or actual instrument stands

I find it's just kind of unnecessary to require all of this equipment these days. As long as you have an understanding of sound, sound waves, and how to manipulate them, you can produce professional sounds on no budget with virtually none of this equipment. It really only gives you the advantage of being able to physically control things rather than doing things on the computer.

alot of the extra hardware you mentioned im thinking is mostly for live and real instrument recording rather than VST or such..it all depends on the type of music your going to be making in the end..i make mostly electronic music and all i need is a pre amp and a good studio condenser microphone and thats about it..and of course good studio monitors and professional headphones. I couldnt find use for all those other boxes unless i was recording a real drumkit or electric guitar and such.
how much does all your equipment cost O.o

im kinda dumb with this stuff i cant afford your stuff but im getting a imac will a mixer be better than a interface and if i get a mixer will i need a interface

@StumpyistheBest Interface is the way to go. It gives you total control over your mix inside the software. Mixer is ok but I like to use the interface more than my mixer. :)
