Axel F Cover - Recreated from scratch on Roland Fantom X series & XV-3080 synths using about 20 tracks. Some sounds were sampled, but no loops or music were sampled.
The bass line was the hardest to recreate, and there is much speculation as to which synth, or combination of synths Harold used for it. It is believed he used a Roland JP-8, a Yamaha DX-7, a Roland JX-3P w/PG-200, and a Linn Drum for this song, although you also see an Oberheim in the music video.
After attempting to recreate this with digital synths, you gain a lot of respect for technology and song writing from days of old.
Enjoy

Ya, that bass sound is a bitch to recreate... check out the dude on Youtube that plays Axel F on the Korg X50. He's got the closest bass sound I've heard yet, but your cover is still much, much better :)
