can you actually record vocals on this program? someone answer me please, i've been asking, and no one will answer, sorry if it's a stupid question, and is it better than Cool Edit Pro 2.0?

@pinkfeather2002 i think your thinking of logic. you can use protools on PC

does samplitude 15 work on macs?

...thanks. it's a useful tut for anyone just starting with Samplitude -- very basic, so very helpful... when you say, "make sure you select this one right here" -- it would be great if you elaborated a little. is it Universal Mode for the mouse?

your very welcome, yea it's a cool little software. I don't know much about it other than what i've show in the video, learned it all from clicking away at stuff and trial and error and i thought i'd save some people some time by making a little vid of what i learned.. have fun! tony

your sorely underestimating the "value" of samplitude and short changing yourself if your only using it for simple applications. This is a more powerful audio engine in comparison to PT--hence the price as you mentioned. PT WAS the industry standard. People are dumping their overhyped PT for daws like samplitude that have better audio quality as well as better PC compatibility. Please first learn for yourself the software and know what capabilities it has before posting a "tutorial"

Why would you be against me turning people on to the basics of this wonderful huge program? They can get the program and dive in as deep as they want. Consider this a beginner lesson. "Lesson One". I just happen to use it for quick recording of ideas instead of busting out all the pro-tools stuff just for an idea song. - again, it's turning people on to the program so pipe down there Guss.

i always thought protools was industry standard and the best audio software, only problem is that it's mac only. is samplitude new? is it for mac only?

Pro Tools is the most commonly used software in the industry. Here's the thing though. To run pro tools, you need to buy it's hardware as well, the software only works with the PT hardware.
Samplitude is not new, been around many years and the software is extremely expensive. software alone runs around 1000 bucks. When i do some serious recording i use pro tools - when it comes to quick editing or demo (quick) recording, i use samplitude
