Smith Mountain Lake avoided a boat fatality this year until this idiot tried to run over a wake surfer while filming. Thankfully no one was hurt.

@MrBurntcracker he should definetly be insulted for wat he did. common sense tells you when you are approaching a person bein towed you should take caution ,let off the throttle and get the hell away. he coulda seriously hurt or killed that individual.

@MrBurntcracker I disagree. Its comon sense to stay away from other water craft and esspecialy people being towed. It was out of his own ignorance that he proceeded to come that close to the boat. He could have let off the throttle turned away from the wake or hell even powered through the wake. Either he was a complete rookie or just a ignorant dumbass. Either way there is no explanation for him being right behind the boat.

@death25 Actually, the best thing to do is to not pull dumb shit like this to begin with. Not only is this dangerous, its illegal. You are not supposed to come within 150 feet of another moving craft.

Video: unless you deploy the breaks "ON NEW model waverunners" just letting go of the throttle will not be enough. on a waverunner or boat the best option to avoid collision is to power away. IE: turn the wheal/handles bars away from the object and power out. waverunners are highly agile and will turn at that distance. NOW im not saying go full blast, but a short burst of throttle will steer him away. in any circumstance it would be better to hit the boat.
