Daniel Pinchbeck and Alice Klein discuss consciousness, ecology and time. Recorded on June 16th, 2007 at the opening of Divine Light in Toronto, Canada, the talk explores planetary changes and the practical means individuals can engage in order to develop a stronger, healthier world.

Daniel Pinchbeck is the author of 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl (Tarcher/Penguin, 2006) and Breaking Open the Head (Broadway Books, 2002). He is Editorial Director of Reality Sandwich.

Alice Klein is co-founder, editor and CEO of Toronto's NOW Magazine, a free alternative news and entertainment weekly. As an accomplished writer and passionate observer of social movements, Klein has covered a breadth of subjects ranging from Canada and the global economy to behind the scenes at the Dalai Lama's Kalachakra initiation. As an original thinker, her comfort zone is writing on the connections between politics, economics, and the archetypal.

Her film "Call of the Hummingbird" was screened prior to the discussion.

Divine Light is a composition by Scott Peterson. It is an abstraction of the harmony of the spheres, a musical universe expanding infinity possibilities and interactions; a labyrinth. A fun and futuristic sound-sculpture celebrating illumination and the human spirit.

Morgan Maher is an artist, designer, explorer and a regular contributor to Reality Sandwich.

  • Not sure I would call myself a liberal more of a soul of light. I place no importance on mankind of any other soul or light in this Universe, But I would guess most of my views would be considered to be liberal with reference to humanist point of view. Still I would take that challenge of debating and not arguing any point on existence. As long as you understand that we must agree to disagree. I don't convert. It is not my responsibility. But passionately am against the materialistic control.

  • Bah... I listened to (great) Whitley Strieber interviewing Pinchbeck in "Dreamland" (15 Sept 2007) and this guy was quite a jerk.

New Age... a comfortable way of earning a living. Totally useless. Blind leading blind that's what it is...
