Respectfully, the tubes you are pulling out are not baffles but are resonators. So sayth VTXCafe.com fourms

Is this the Clayton Root? I thought this was the Hole Saw Method, and the Clayton Root was just a series or small holes?

Thanks so much for the post. Just got an 08 vtx 1300c and was agonizing over wether to debaffle the tapered pipes. Will be doing this mod asap.

You are correct, it is actually called the Hole Saw Mod, Clayton Root method is the drilled holes.

i have 2009 vtx 1300r done pair valve and just did debaffle like your but need to know if i need to adjust carb drive on highway notice no negaqtive isues but need help if need adjustment or leave it as it is,also sound now is great

I adjusted the Air Fuel Mixture Screw out to 2-1/4 Turns. I have since added some holes to the inner baffle with a long drill bit, it sounds even better now.
