1974 chevy titan 90 Cabover truck 8v71 starting up

third time i started it... and the first time i started it turn over three times and was running ... it last time running was in the 80's and old guy said it will run and it does.. and yes its for sale ..

Hey Neal, this is Howard who bought the old Titan. Just a little update. After seeing you at the Buck the Luberfiner lines got to leaking so bad I had to make repairs on the side of the road, capped the lines and filled the oil. I've since done away with the Luberfiner. After repairing the cab lift lines found the fan belt had been torn apart due to being rusted into the pulley grooves. Had to remove both pulleys and use a cut-off wheel to clean the rust out of the grooves.

Nice video. I wish my check would come soon. I like that truck. I found a '73 Titan with an 8v71 in it today for sale-pretty close by also-however,if it sells soon-I'll be giving you a call. I was going to buy an old Mack U series tractor to work on but decided on a Titan instead. We have lots of vintage truck shows and bringing a Titan there would be out of the blue for around here.

what causes the backfiring sound when you press the accelerator? By the way , like the blue wheels, nice touch. I would love to see videos when this truck is restored. I really like the old Astros and Titans.

@bj99ful the band clamp came off the header thats is why also is a two stroke...

IT'S THE SAME ENGINE AS A BUS. THE 2STROKE WAS A COMMON ENGINE THEN.

Is it just me or doesnt it sound like a bus motor? Dont get me wrong, I like Detroits,it's just I cant help thinking they sound like the back end of a Greyhound.
