Super Hero Pin-up speed painting ( week 12 ) by DrakePin-up

Obviously inspired by comic book art his week, I wanted to have the heroic pose with the cape blowing in the breeze, but with a twist. The clasic pin-up pose occasionally would have the wind blowing the dress up in the back to reveal the hidden garter or stockings. The goal was to combine those two concepts and see what happens. You can see the exploration as I was struggling through the color and finish. I flipped through an art book at the book store called DC Comics Covergirls during the week and you can see the direct results of that.
Since I started this process of a pin-up a week it has been interesting to look back and see what experiences and inspiration happened that week and how it manifested its way into the art. Every weekend I say to myself, this is the week that I dont have enough time, or I dont have the focus to complete the pin-up, but as soon as I sit down for 20 minutes or so and rough in the big idea, the motivation follows and gets me to the finish. Here is # 12 in a row and I really cant believe I have been able to keep this up with the craziness of work these days and a 2 month old and a 3 year old at home. Thank you for all the support. yes most professionals use illustrator, its a little harder to use at first but will give you the best outcome. illustrator is vector so you can scale to any size and it will look the same. its worth a try

Hey Scott, man every time I watch you I get inspired to get on my tablet. I am curious though, it looks like you paint with illustrator, and I never really seen that. Do you start off in photoshop then go into illustrator? I'm curious to see if painting in illustrator is worth a try. Thank you
