  • I remember Michael - he used to live close to me in Liverpool. He drove a shiney blue and chrome American convertable. We (children) would all go and see him every time he was home. So sad he committed suicide.

  • this guy is a good singer :) I like his baritone, but he can go high. and he dresses nicely like singers should, no baggy pants with jewelry and obscene language!

  • A tremendous talent who had a way with covers and original material, not unlike Matt Monro and Tony Perkins. He is greatly missed.

  • First number one of the 60's........legend

  • What a great song, outstanding

  • This reminds me of when there were real singers. And they were refined. I remember when Michael sang "The Story of My Life"; and I saw him in a film with Shirley Eaton and the Crazy Gang. Those certainly were the days.

  • Micheal chatted to my Mom and Dad a hotel in Blackpool in the late fifties and it wasn't until he left that they were told who he was.

They remember him fondly and say what a real gentleman he was.

  • Dam...I remember hearing this in a supermarket when I was seven......my older brothers played this Footsteps and Portrait of my love (by Steve Lawrence)...great songs....thanks you so much.

  • A wonderful performer but also a very insecure one. He never liked doing public appearances because he always felt that people were disappointed when they saw him in the flesh. Somehow his voice didn't match his appearance and he was all too conscious of this.

  • Me and a mate were sat in an all night greasy spoon transport caff around 1960 at 1am and who should walk in but Michael Holiday who ate his sausage egg and chips sat next to us.

  • RESPECT !!

  • Certainly the best of the uk crooners of his day . I grew up with his music and the song `I`ll always be in love with you ` still brings back wonderful memories for which i shall be eternally grateful superamos31
