The original BlackBerry Storm, though a massive departure from RIMs usual buttoned-up candybar smartphones, left many unhappy with the clicking touchscreen called SurePress. Well, after a lengthy batch of leaks, the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm2 9550 (known as Odin, once upon a time) is on its way to Verizon (NYSE: VZ), and presumably 02 and Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) across the pond. From what weve seen, the new and improved SurePress is based on a series of four sensors beneath the screen, as opposed to the single central pivot point on the original 9500. Being able to hit multiple keys on the virtual keyboard promises to improve typing speeds, and the inclusion of Wi-Fi is something that has been missing for a long time. Throw in a few stylistic changes, like rubberized buttons, and a new chrome trim, and youve got yourself an exciting sequel to a device that had previously failed to impress. So, does the Storm2 deliver? Hit the jump to find out for yourself http://www.intomobile.com/2009/10/14/blackberry-storm2-review.html

  • Is someone having a bowl of cereal in the background....?

  • Yeah, actually! Good call. Sorry, I know it's pretty distracting.

  • i dont think this guy owns a blackberry, or know much about this phone, he said that it will have 128 mb application memory . its gonna have 256 mb

and notice he dont close the anything properly . he hits the end key , which cause the app to still run in the background. that alone will slow any blackberry up. it took me a while to figure out , they actually multitask.

  • You're right about the 256 MB, I hadn't double-checked the spec sheet before the unboxing. Way too eager to try it out. ;)

I hit the end key because I wanted to move along quickly and not chug through the menu to "Close" every time I wanted to show something.

    I usually pack a Bold (had it since launch), but have also used the 7520, 8700, 8800, 8100, 9530, 8230, 8520, 8900, and 9630.

  • I had a Storm and the browser is SO slow. The whole phone is just slow. I had free browsing but only if I used the Blackberry browser, so I was kind of stuck. And the constant battery pulls sucked. Although that's not confined just to the Storm. I paid it out early and went to a HTC Desire. Best phone ever.
