Under the guidance of a speech-language pathologist or audiologist, the Durham College Communicative Disorders Assistant program will teach you the essential skills required to embark on a rewarding career working with individuals with speech, language or hearing disorders.
Emphasis is placed on preparing graduates to implement communication programming after a speech-language pathologist or audiologist has completed an assessment and determined a treatment plan.
Our faculty are dedicated professionals with many years of clinical experience in communicative disorders who foster student learning through, classroom-based learning, clinical observations, computer-assisted learning, experience in the field before field placement begins, guest speakers, practical lab activities and specialized workshops.
Through training in our dedicated communicative disorders assistant classroom, clinical resource library and hearing lab, you will gain the knowledge and skills needed to deliver a wide range of communication services to clients of all ages.
