10 minutes of patching up my current Buchla 200e performance configuration, timelapsed down to 30 seconds. This is part of my upcoming new series for MacProVideo.com, entitled "Analog Synthesis in a Digital World".

  • I'm surprised to see that you only have one quad function generator amidst all those oscillators.. My assumption is that this build is especially prone to weirdness as it seems to use less linear forms of modulation.

    On my build, I'd go for those four oscillators, but skip the arbitrary fg, and add another quadfg. Scratch the trip filters and add a sequential voltage source along with the non-e lag and you've built my desired 12 box.

    How has this build served you? Would you change it?

  • @finalmattasy It's not obvious from the video, but I use the pressure of the Haken Continuum to control envelopes for the 4 main oscillators, and so don't need extra EGs - you'll notice I have two quad VCAs, one for the Haken pressure, the other for the 250e and other EG functions. So far, this has worked out very well for me, and I have no desire at this point to change it.

  • RIP Richard...you will be missed

  • @rlainhart Nice, thanx for the reply. After watching this i saw another one of your vids where you use the haken. I had never seen one before. I "get it" now. Not that it would be at all shabby without it!

  • This videos 31 seconds, lier.

  • I like how the 210e's b/t the 292e and the 227e in the patch. Thanks for showing your patching! :)

  • would have worked much better .. with a sound example at the conclusion..

  • It's nice seeing the use of the 210e.

  • What are the nobs for ? you can't use use them with all the cables XD

  • nice ( ;
