I do not consider myself particularly anti-american, much that is good has come out of the USA, especially guitar-based rock music. Also, you must admit, much that is less than admirable, much like the United Kingdom, much like any country that has had world-wide power. Some have been worse (at risk of invoking Godwins Law) neither the USA nor the UK ever produced anything even approaching Adolf Hitler, nor, I think, are likely to. We did produce Winston Churchill and you produced Abraham Lincol

Right, let's attempt to defuse this situation before things get too explosive. Firstly, to call someone an as*hole (directly, not suggest it) is rather rude, especially when you know next to nothing about that person. Secondly, I have been a long time Davy Graham fan, ever since hearing "Anji" on his EP entitled 3/4 AD, and it irritated me that he was being denied his rightful composers credit. No, Mabo3 is not part of any conspiracy to rewrite history, and I apologise for my over-reaction for

@bargeemike That's not what you said, and that's why I suggested you're as as*hole. What you said, is -- read your post -- "another attempt by the USA to rewrite history". Really? Mabo3 is attempting to rewrite history? And he's doing so as part of a premeditated plan by the USA to do this? Or really, maybe, is he a guy who just didn't happen to know that the world famous recording by Paul Simon isn't the original. You're just anti American; why use this guy's video as a forum to express it?

By America to claim credit for something British. (Victory in Burma during worl war II, capturing a naval enigma machine, etc. etc. etc.)

@philtangerine The video is entitled "Anji (Paul Simon) ..." the clear implication being it is a Paul Simon composition, that is simply untrue, it was written by Davey Graham. Secondly, I made no comment on the video, others criticised its structure, not me. Thirdly, "bleeding" not "bleeping", not so much a comment on Paul Simon (who has written a fair amount of decent material, enough to make me forgive him the execerable "Bridge Over Troubled Waters") but sheer exasperation at another attemp

@bargeemike maybe you're an as*hole. First, the guy's playing it really well, and slow enough for people to learn. 2nd, he's playing Paul Simon's version. Third, he's just a guy playing guitar, I bet he's not "attempting to rewrite history." Fourth, he's not writing on behalf of the USA, and neither was Paul Simon when he recorded it. And 5th, why would you refer to Paul Simon as "bleeping." Who in the last 50 years has done as much Paul Simon to keep acoustic guitar in the public eye.

Another attemt by the USA to rewrite history. This was NOT written by Paul Simon, it was written by Davy Graham! A stalwart of the early sixties jazz/blues/folk scene in London, and collaborator with Bert Jansch. They produced the definitive version of this number, not bleeding Paul Simon!
