How to Change Icons and Themes in Ubuntu 11.10 & 12.04

It's much easier to install themes in Ubuntu 11.10 manually by simply going into your Home directory. Press ctrl+h, and all your hidden files will show. If you cant see the .themes folder, make it yourself by right clicking, make a new folder, and name it .themes - extract the theme in their. Much easier.

When i open up tweak it shows a triangle with a orange exlamation point and it doesnt let me click it to change the theme. Please help. Ubuntu noob here!

You don't need to reboot. Just Log off and on again.

@RyanScfc1 Fair point, I forget about logging out because with autologin enabled doing a restart is far simpler
