At least, it looks a little like omelet....
Here is my favorite sweet pastry from convenience store in Japan. I love this since high school student. So I thought I could make something like this for Christmas cake this year.

- Sponge cake -
: 2 egg yolk
: 2 egg white
: 50g sugar (30g caste or soft sugar + 20g granulated sugar)
: 100g flour
: 100ml milk
- Whipped cream -
: 200g heavy cream
: 15 ~ 20g caster or soft sugar
: a little vanilla extract
- Syrup -
: 50ml water
: 30g sugar
: 1/2 tsp rum extract or kirsch

In France, our Christmas cake is a Bûche de Noël, with chocolate, vanilla or coffee. Sometimes it's made of icecream, and sometimes it's just a cake with cream and decorations, but it's delicious ! :D

@Nushgala I hate the cherries ;_; so gross. But a friend of my grandmother's makes an Italian-style bread that actually makes them semi-decent.

Fruit cake in America would be our Christmas cake. But no one eats it. It was made in the past to preserve fruits. It's gross!
