E-waste is routinely exported by developed countries to developing ones, often in violation of the international law. This practice is legal because the US has not ratified the Basel Convention.

So why don't people use the electronic products they bought with their hard earned money as long as possible? More money could be saved for more important things such as food, houses, cars or even renewable energy investment. More 'educated' people need to learn the true meaning of 3 Rs most importantly RECYCLE instead of throwing everything to landfills...... Learn to be responsible to our own kind (humans), apart from the environment....
Both the government and consumers MUST do their part....

we're doomed.............why can't dell (for example) be made to recycle their own products......when mine is done i'd pay something to know it was recycled properly...and buy a new product from them....our politicians have no balls....its all about a lousy dollar/as usual
