N. Ireland on brink 'of abyss' after police, army killings

Detectives in Northern Ireland probing the killing of a police officer arrested two men Tuesday in the town where the attack took place, officials said.The policeman, named as Stephen Carroll, 48, was shot in the head late Monday, 48 hours after the killing of two British soldiers, the first such incidents in over a decade. @Probational Though this would never happen, the moral thing for the US to do WOULD be to cede large tracts of land back to the native populace. Though I come from a military family and have considered enlisting myself, a Native American terrorist would be,I must admit, justified in attacking US soldiers.Were I a US soldier I would bear no ill will against such a man for attacking me, as I became complicit in my nation's crimes when I enlisted. I haven't forgotten anything; Northern Ireland was made up of 6 out of Ulster's 9 counties to ensure a Protestant majority. That's common knowledge, we're talking GCSE History or earlier. I'm pretty sure it was well known at the time. What does that have to with anything I said?

Those soldier's had families just like you and I. If you're that close-minded, don't expect sympathy from me or anyone else if a terrorist kills one of your family. I value human life, you obviously don't.

I assume the Irish Army Rangers scored higher than many Special Forces in the test you refer to (though I've never seen the figures, I've heard it from various people.)

Northern Ireland is British because the majority of its citizens consider themselves to be so.

Yes, they are. Northern Ireland is British by the choice of the majority of its people. Northern Ireland will remain British until the majority want to be unified with the Republic of Ireland.

I know plenty of catholics that favour the Union with Britain for economical, political and military reasons. The Rep. of Ireland's economy is falling to shit, their politics is an absolute joke and their army is pathetic.
