  • you suck!! lendl was one of the greatest no.1's. he changed tennis. he brought fitness and power to the game, the same power you enjoy watching today. he set trends, like changing raquets at every ball change. he dominated all the big names like macenroe and connors. he has the second number of tournament wins and is the only player to regain the year end no.l after losing it. so piss off kid

  • Ouch!

It's one thing when you're aced because a serve whizzes past you.

But, when you're aced because the serve bounced TWICE in FRONT you...you not only got aced, but you got punk'd on top of it!

  • @KingCast65 Yeah they seem pretty good, considering Sampras used them throughout his career. And some are sold cheap on ebay Im thinking of getting one

  • @SiaWinsi Yah I'm pretty much a Wilson guy but have done the Dunlop Max 200g back in the day and the newer Dunlops are good too. Would like to try so many rackets but I barely have time for tennis period, need to try to re-work things so I can play more. Right now I have the Surge from 2008 (white) a good tweener. I used to play the Sampras Pro Staffs :)

  • @KingCast65 Lol nice. Ive always wanted to get a prostaff because of Pete Sampras, but the closest I ever got to that was a BLX 6.1 Tour and whenever the strings break on it I demo the KProStaff 88, which sucks for baseline play but let me tell you your serves and volleys will never be better

  • @SiaWinsi And let me tell you this: I still have a Kneissl Pro somewhere in my closet, not as good as the Adidas GTX but still a hoot. In high school '81-84 we all used to mimic all of these guys I'll never forget it!

  • @SiaWinsi Whoa. Have you ever closely followed Davis Cup and the ability to win under that kind of pressure? It is a COMPLETELY different animal. I don't give a shit that the general public doesn't give it daps. Mac broke Arthur Ashe's Davis Cup record and I'm quite sure that Arthur was proud of that, how do I know... because I interviewed him :)

In David Cup you can see players rise to new levels out of relative obscurity because of pride for their country, it's no fokken joke mate, peace.

  • @KingCast65 Ok... but since when is the Davis Cup a big deal? Both lead their countries to victory anyways. But I don't think the Davis Cup is really viewed as highly as Grand Slams or ATP events

  • @SiaWinsi

No question Lendl was an animal, I remember it well.

His record at Davis Cup, not quite as good.

McEnroe's win-loss in Davis Cup is 41-8. Lendl's, at the page linked above, is 18-11.

    Then add doubles Davis Cup.

  • @KingCast65 Compared to Lendls 8 majors, 19 major finals, and 143 singles titles (94 being ATP) then yes I say that McEnroe is infact inferior to Lendl (singles that is, but due to his net game he was great for doubles)

  • @SiaWinsi

    77 career singles titles

    7 Grand Slams

    74 doubles titles

    8 Grand Slams.

    You're right. Clearly inferior.

  • @SiaWinsi In short, Mac's dimension was (and still is) precision. But despite his speed he couldn't keep doing it at the highest levels enough to win, especially as he got older and the game got Bigger. But to say Mac was not of a caliber of Lendl, Connors, Borg, Edberg is laughable ad all of the others would tell you as much.
