Shamus Youngs dynamically generated PixelCity, as seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-d2-PtK4F6Y , code has been ported to Mac OS X, and this is what it looks like.

Running as screensaver on 10.5.6.

Bear in mind the video depicts the screensaver running on a dual monitor setup at 1920x1200 res, so it's somewhat choppy in bloom mode. :)

OSX port can be downloaded at http://www.emage-software.com/

Windows version at http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=3237

  • Is there any way we can use the generator its self?

  • The source code is freely available!

  • Is this available for 10.4 (Tiger) ?

  • Sorry, we haven't tested it for Tiger.

  • Does anyone know what exactly is that background music? It sounds great.

  • The background music is from the freely available youtube library.

  • @nattuggla Does it have a user interface? Or do you have to know code to use it?

  • that's what Chewbacca city looks like

  • wow

  • Background music is beautiful. The screensaver is nice too. I took both. :D

  • Quite different and worth sharing online. The Classical music in the background is light and just a minor composers endeavour.
