I LOVE this film 2 death!!! I watched this 4 the 10th time a few hours ago on TCM and I just loved it. The grandmother is incredibly strong and takes care of her family,and I truly love and respect that. I wish my mother was like that.

when i read the play in high school i was in awe because i didn't know books could be so moving and personal the way this was. the words jumps off the page and captures you and you feel like you are right there in the room with the characters sharing the good times as well as the bad. i never read anything that made me feel that way. when i seen the movie i was like wow it's just like the book never missed a beat. great book and great film. classic.

Soul Plane nor Raisin have anything to do with how far we've fallen. If we stop acting ignorant and just handle our business, we'll be fine. We have to stop blaming other things and people and take responsibility for own actions.
