With abundant waterways, unique shops and museums, excellent restaurants, natural parks and a calendar filled with interesting festivals and activities, Calvert County has earned its nickname "Charm of the Chesapeake." Tourism continues to be one of the leading components of Calvert County's economy. The Board of County Commissioners encourages tourism as an important component of its economic development program.

  • @chevyman1488 I live in Easton, opposite on the eastern shore, and it's very much the same attitude.

  • I would say your knowledge of Calvert County is sketchy at best. You might be familiar with Huntingtown, Prince Frederick, and Dunkirk but you can learn all of that stuff from a tour book. To really exp. of the local culture and customs you should stray into off the map territory. There's plenty of action in North Beach and and the Ranch Club in Lusby for the bold at heart. The one place I wouldn't recommend is Owings, especially around Paris Oaks. You wouldn't last 5 minutes in that hood.

  • I live in Calvert and where I find it pretty dull I do understand why people would vacation here. There is quite a bit of stuff to do and not too much driving needed to get places. There are nice B&Bs and expensive hotels to cheap motels. There are family friendly spots and the wild place or two. There's the beach and water, or the museums and history. To those of us who live here, yes it's dull as dirt! If we open our eyes however we'll see how much we have that others don't.

  • planning my 2nd trip to Calvert County since my 1st one went so well! We've decided to make it our annual vacation spot. Thinking about touring a place called Huntingtown. Any thoughts or ideas on what there is to see there? Very Exicited!!

  • everytime i see the sign for "calvert county tourism" by the show place arena i have to laugh because there is absolutely no tourism in this county, so STAY THE FUCK OUT, AND ALL THE NIGGERS FROM PG, AND DC, THIS IS NOT YOUR PLACE
