SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 -- AS IT HAPPENED (PART 1) (NBC/PART 1)

Part 1 of 22. (NBC Part 1.)

This 22-part series includes more than 23 hours of live television news coverage from September 11, 2001.

Programming begins at 8:31 AM (Eastern Daylight Time), which was fifteen minutes before the first Boeing 767 crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City.

Parts 17-22 contain 12+ hours of live TV coverage that I recorded on VHS videotape, beginning at 10:54 AM EDT (9:54 AM Central Time) on September 11th, 2001.

My homemade recordings consist of footage from various local and network television outlets, including ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox News, Newsworld International, WGN in Chicago, and all of the local TV stations in Indianapolis, Indiana.

I was using the remote control a lot that day to switch back and forth between the different networks. Thus, the footage seen in Parts 17 through 22 is in "rough cut" form, appearing exactly the way I recorded the news coverage, as it was happening, on September 11th.
