Created for Beat Visitor @ http://BeatVisitor.com , a Rutgers Football fan blog. Every fan at Rutgers Stadium should learn the words of the first verse and the chorus of their Alma Mater so that they can sing it with band after the National Anthem, and with the team after each game (plus, I wanted to see if this tune would work better with a guitar and voice than with marching band and glee club). Written by Howard Fullerton in 1873, this version was performed by R. Mumma on May 9, 2008. The illustrations for this video come from 1998 (Rutgers vs. Temple) through early 2008 (the International Bowl vs. Ball State, and the Scarlet-White Game in April). PLEASE SING ALONG AT HOME!!

What a horrible version of "On the Banks." I agree that everyone at Rutgers should know the lyrics, but learn the song from someone not trying to mess with the overall style of the song! It's a college song; it should sound upbeat at the very least.
Congratulations on the graduations (especially the most recent). I still have a vivid memory of my day on Vorhees Mall in a cap and gown even though it was over 30 years ago.

I will always love Rutgers College but I cannot endorse this horrible video as representative of RC
